CatalogRank SEO ("the app", "we") is a Shopify app that helps merchants improve their store's SEO and accessibility. This policy explains what data the app accesses, stores, and shares.

What we access and store

The app stores only the minimum data it needs to function:

• Store & authentication: your myshopify.com domain and a Shopify access token, used solely to call Shopify's Admin API on your behalf.
• App settings: your selected plan and the optional brand voice / target keywords you enter.
• SEO content & results: audit results and health scores; product/page SEO state (meta titles & descriptions); image alt text; link fixes; image-optimization results (bytes saved); and a before/after history of every change so you can undo it.
• Usage records: counts of actions and estimated AI cost, used for plan limits and billing.

We do not collect or store your customers' personal information (names, emails, addresses, or payment details). The app works with product, image, and SEO data — not customer data.

Third parties

• Google (Gemini AI): to generate alt text, meta tags, and link labels, we send the relevant product text and — for alt text — the bytes of your own product/store images to Google's Gemini API, which returns the generated text.
• Hosting: the app runs on a private server (DigitalOcean) with all data encrypted in transit via TLS.

We do not sell your data or share it with any other third parties.

Data retention & deletion

Your data is retained while the app is installed and is scheduled for deletion when you uninstall. We also honor Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks:

• shop/redact — all of your store's data is deleted.
• customers/redact and customers/data_request — handled per Shopify's requirements (the app stores no customer personal data, so there is none to redact or export).

Security

All traffic is served over HTTPS/TLS. Access tokens are stored securely and used only for the app's functionality.
